Dr. Keji Akin is a Pediatrician certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
She values the time her patients spend with her, appointments are never rushed or hurried. She makes patients feel comfortable and at ease. She speaks French and Spanish fairly well, using all of these skills and knowledge to make a clinic visit a rewarding and cherished experience.
Dr. Akin received her Medical Degree in 1991, and completed Internship and Pediatric Residency program at Cook County Children’s Hospital in 1998. She obtained a Master of Public Health degree in Applied Epidemiology at Emory University, Atlanta In 2011.
Dr. Keji Akin is a board certified pediatrician with over 20 years of clinical expertise. She has vast experience with providing care to children of all ages. One common problem she identified in most patients was the trending increase in weight. Most primary care pediatricians are unable to effectively help their patients lose weight. This inspired her to obtain an Masters in Public Heath degree. She focused on Epidemiology- the study of causes of diseases and health problems. She combines this study of disease with her vast clinical knowledge to provide the best and most individualized approach to keep your child and young adult healthy. In order to focus primarily on weight management for children addition to primary care pediatrics, Dr. Akin decided to embark upon solo private practice in April 2013. She is currently affiliated with Good Samaritan hospital in Downers Grove, Edward hospital in Naperville and Amita Hinsdale hospital.

Dr. Akin is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Initial certification was in 1998. She was re-certified in 2005, and 2015. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

While at Children’s Memorial Hospital, she was selected to train pediatricians on the use of computerized medical records including Virtual Private Network. She has also been involved with the state-wide review of physicians and has served on several boards including chairing a state-wide Pediatric Quality Review Committee.
Dr. Akin lives in DuPage County and has 3 children. She is a Catholic and enjoys volunteering her time at church. She also enjoys reading crime stories (one of her favorite authors is John Grisham), working out and spending time with her family.
